One giant leap for toddlers

A Toddle waddle by youngsters from Jubilee Pre-School around a field in Middleton-on-Sea has raised around £900 for the Meningitis Trust.

In all, 29 children between the ages of two-and-a-half and four-and-a-half put on their wellies on a rainy day last month and walked with their parents around Shrubbs Field, some wearing masks of the charity mascot Monty the Duck and carrying balloons. 'It may have been one small step for the toddlers but it was one giant leap for fund raising,' said Betty Labron, the pre-school manager.

The event was a great success and has become an annual event for the pre-school who have over the past five years raised more than 5,000 for the charity which they supported since a former pupil died of the disease.'
