Allotments are healthy

I HAVE written to Rother District Council and the Bexhill and Battle MP, Greg Barker, to ask that the provision of allotments is taken into account for the following reasons:

Working on an allotment encourages physical labour which keeps one healthy and less likely to need to visit the doctor.

Working in the open air and meeting friends promotes good mental health, but confining people to their homes with mo mental stimulation is obviously so detrimental.

A side effect almost is the provision of fresh food untainted by pesticides which benefits the allotment holder and his neighbours who share his produce.

Surely there would be less call on the National Health Service by promoting an allotment service?
