Compelled to write

AS chaiman of Lyminster and Crossbush Parish Council, I felt compelled to write and endorse all that Carol Hatton stated in her letter (Gazette, February 16) regarding the proposed housing developments from Ferring to Littlehampton.

Our local roads in this area cannot cope with the traffic at present. If the North Littlehampton development goes ahead, with its possible plan to join the A284 in the middle of Lyminster, then there will be gridlock.

If it is essential that there is more housing in this beautiful area, then it is vital that the infrastructure is in place first. Whilst not wanting the landscape ruined by more roads, if the Arundel bypass is not in place then these houses should not be built.
