There was a crash on Rushams Road over the weekend and the front wall of one of the houses suffered as a result.

There is a large group of us that have been concerned about this for some time following previous similar crashes.

We were beginning to ponder possible solutions and this current incident has underlined the fact that we need to take action on this continuing problem.

According to neighbours there have been other incidents just recently. One of the benefits of the lockdown is that we have come together as a group to look at what we can do.

To this end we have been contacting our local councillors to get some advice on how to proceed. I’m sure that this is an issue in other areas, hopefully we can find a way forward.

With the coronavirus lockdown having a major impact on many of our local valued advertisers - and consequently the advertising that we receive - we are more reliant than ever on you helping us to provide you with news and information by buying a copy of our newspapers.

Our journalists are highly trained and our content is independently regulated by IPSO to some of the most rigorous standards in the world. But being your eyes and ears comes at a price. So we need your support more than ever to buy our newspapers during this crisis.

Stay safe, and best wishes.
