Full bypass needed before 2,000 houses

AS A resident of Lyminster, who is already only too aware of the heavy traffic passing through the village, I am writing to urge the importance of putting the full bypass in place before building the 2,000 or so houses at North Littlehampton and Courtwick.

The traffic in Lyminster is already so heavy that it take us many minutes to get out of our drive; the pavement is a danger to any pedestrians; and we have two very dangerous corners, especially for the huge lorries that come through, where there have been fatalities.

It is essential that the bypass from Littlehampton’s Fitzalan Road, going over the railway at Toddington and across the fields to come out to the east of Lyminster, is built early in the construction phase.

There should also be a protective bund on both sides of the new road incorporated in the plans, to protect the villages of Poling and Lynimster from the worst of the road noise.

Please do not put any more traffic though Lyminster – there will be gridlock at best and fatalities at worst.
