Let’s have some answers

DID I read correctly (Gazette, October 27) that the latest reason for the delay of our hospital in Littlehampton was the the NHS Sussex chief executive “needs more time to gather information”.

What an insult to all the dedicated people trying to get our hospital rebuilt. It was only on October 13 that we heard that the Primary Care Trust (PCT) had failed to honour a contract made with a developer which is now suing the PCT in the High Court. How on earth did these clever and highly paid people make such a hideous mistake and why allocate the contract if “more information” was required?

I understand that the cost of the court proceedings could take a large part of any financial allocations of funding for the hospital.

It would be so much more helpful if we didn’t have to put up with civil service platitudes and we were actually told the truth.

After all, I understand it is at least nine years since the first plans were made for the replacement of our hospital. How much more information do “they” need?

Let’s have some answers!
