LETTER: Why should we bother recycling?

Can your readers tell me why we the taxpayers bother to take time to recycle waste?

Last evening when it was dark outside, the bin men arrived and emptied all the separated glass bottles and jars from black bottle waste box into the paper and card green bin. If they cannot be bothered, why should the taxpayer?
