Lions' big roar of approval

FOLLOWING the report (Gazette, August 20) about the Lions' club lunch for almost 100 senior citizens, I would like to add my personal thanks to our local politicians.

Sue Lines, chairman of Rustington Parish Council, and Mark Butler, Littlehampton town mayor, not only attended the event, but also helped with the preparation of the food and serving the guests.

At a time when national politicians are, quite rightly, held in very low esteem by the voters, it is good to see local politicians helping out at such events.
