Planning objection

I HAVE written to Rother District Council - though since December 14 I have, as yet, received no reply - to oppose Telefonica 02 UK's application to add further to the height of Conquest House in Collington Avenue, Bexhill. (Appplication RR/2010/2811/F)

My objections are as follows:

1. As I understand it, Conquest House was completed some one third higher than originally intended. This was, allegedly, due to a council planning error in granting permission for a fixed number of storeys, without taking into account the fact that the storey height was at least one third higher than originally planned,

This resulted in a building which stands high above any other in the surrounding area and can only be descrbed as a monument to planning ineptitude.

2. Since construction, various structures and erections have appeared on top of the building, despite protests from adjacent residents, so that now it is festooned with a forest of aerials and structures adding what amounts to a further storey to this already over-height building and forming a blot on the landscape of Bexhill.

3. Surely enough is enough, and it is time to stop further development of the top of this structure on the grounds of over-development of the site.
