Step back to the past

I GREW up in the Clun Road flats in the 1970s and 1980s. So, I have seen my roots change, the flats, the campsite, The Swan, the Wickbourne Chapel.

I miss them all and will never see these places again. So I have to say how happy I am that Dave and his wife, who ran Roberts Off Licence, are still down East Ham Road.

As a kid I would shoot in there for my ice-poles, so I had something to keep me occupied whilst standing in an ever-growing queue at Gregory’s Fish and Chip shop (which is another great loss).

So, I have to thank you both for still being the happy, smiley, approachable people you always were and thank you for not closing your shop. It really is a step back into my past.
