Thanks for kind flower bed praise

HOW lovely of Rita Fuller to have taken the time and trouble to write to the Observer (April 22) to compliment our flower bed!

We are extremely proud of it this spring. The flowers are almost bursting out of the raised bed.

To correct her, the flower bed has been planted by the Rainbow Guides in Battle, not the Brownies, although we are in the same Girlguiding family.

Rainbows are girls aged five to seven years.

This is our ‘Rainbow bed of flowers’ which was first created in June 2005 when Beautiful Battle first were formed.

We are currently sponsored by Trevor Henning, very well supported by Beautiful Battle and Tim Gowland at Great Park Farm Nursery, Catsfield.

Last year a fantastic raised bed was designed and constructed by Alan Cole from Beautiful Battle.

We usually plant twice a year, in October and June. The girls enjoy it enormously.

So, thanks to you for your lovely comments Rita, we shall tell the girls on Monday when we return after the Easter break.
