Window woes

MR Daniel Vick’s letter (Gazette, May 17) cannot be allowed to go unchallenged.

Does he honestly believe that over the discarded sofas, broken furniture, piles of undelivered newspapers and splitting black bags littering the South Terrace, people are going to notice the windows?

Has he walked along there recently?

Mistakes were made years ago when planning permission was given to convert these buildings, sometimes into nine or more units, without access to the back of the property for rubbish disposal.

As to the Vardar, this is not even apparent from any main thoroughfare.

Anyone peering through would be more likely to admire the beautifully laid out gardens and recently refurbished forecourt.

I doubt if they would know, or even care, what the windows were made of.

This is just petty bureaucracy raising its ugly head again.

Perhaps Mr Vick is trying to justify his position? I’m a lifelong resident of Littlehampton and keen patron of the Vardar Restaurant, in Selborne Place.
