Parking charges to hit Barnham firms
NOW that Bognor has at last agreed to a free car parking trial, it seems incredible that the owner of the only car park in Barnham has introduced parking charges.
A disc scheme of one hour free would deter long-term usage by train travellers, and give adequate time to call at the bank, vet, chemist and local shops which are surely going to suffer under the new charges, given that there are other places just down the road with adequate free parking.
In these difficult times when every penny counts, I have heard numerous people say that they will be shopping elsewhere. How can we support local businesses when profiteering is put before local needs?
