Pagham business in search for biggest pumpkin

A COMPETITION has been launched by a Pagham business to find the biggest pumpkins in the south of the country.

Pumpkin growers Barfoots of Botley is running the competition, and the winning entrant's pumpkin will be put on display at the largest Sainsbury store in the country with a picture of the winner alongside it.

The Sumo Pumpkin competition is open to non-commercial growers across the south, whether they grow their pumpkins in a garden, allotment or bathtub.

The weigh-in will take place at Sainsburys, Hedge End, on Sunday, October 12 at noon, under strict competition regulations.

All entrants are asked to forward an image of their pumpkin with themselves alongside, and an indication of weight to [email protected]. The 50 largest will be invited to the store for the weigh-in.
