A very busy weekend ahead for Peasmarsh - there is the Flower Festival at Peasmarsh church which will take place over the Bank Holiday weekend; 10am to 6pm May 25-27. There will also be a plant stall and refreshments available, with the added attraction of Morris Dancing at 11am on Sunday 26.

Also on Sunday May 26 the second Rye 10 Race takes place, starting at 10am from the entrance to Jempson’s car park. The 10 mile route is via Tanhouse Lane turning into Starvecrow Lane, into Moores Lane, along Furnace Lane, turning right at Calveslodge Wood into Horseshoe Lane, then back to Starvecrow Lane and the finish at Jempson’s. A reminder that Peasmarsh Annual Parish Assembly will be held on Wednesday May 29, 7.30pm at the Pavilion. Parish, District and County councillors will be there to answer your questions and hear your views. This is open to all Peasmarsh residents and there will be refreshments available from 7pm.

Hopefully not too long now until we can all see the great transformation of our Memorial Hall, however the Memorial Hall website is now up and running and has up to date information about upcoming events in the village together with other activities, plus a booking calendar for the refurbished hall - www.peasmarshmh.btck.co.uk

Don’t forget to book your tickets for the Peasmarsh Chamber Music Festival which runs from June 20 to 23. There are brochures in the church, or at the Tourist Information Centre in Rye or you can call Sue Schlesinger on 253178.

This Sunday there will be a Family Service at Peasmarsh church at 10am to coincide with the Flower Festival.
