Pets At Home store opening

PUPILS from Charters Ancaster primary school, along with their very own school VIP (Very Important Pet) 'Scooby', helped celebrate the launch of Bexhill's brand new pet store, Pets At Home, on Friday.

Officially opening their doors for the first time, the store promised 'a fun filled party weekend for all the family', featuring a variety of treats for customers, including face painting, music from the wild-at-heart Dixie Land Jazz Duo, balloon animal makers, and the added bonus of a ten percent discount all weekend.

Store Manager Cliff Evans said that both himself and his staff are looking forward to welcoming people and their pets to their new store at Ravenside retail park.

He said: "Our new store will provide plenty of options for customers and we welcome pets of all shapes and sizes. Whether you are looking for food, toys, clothing, bedding or something a bit quirky, Pets at Home has the most fantastic range and choice. Our expert team will also be on hand to offer the best advice for you and your pet, on any matter '“ from nutrition to toilet training."

He added: "We are passionate about animals and that is evident to everyone who visits our stores."

Prior to the opening, children from Charters Ancaster school were invited to show off their artistic talents by taking part in a pet drawing competition.

They were asked to draw/design pictures of their pets and the winning pieces of artwork are now proudly displayed within the store.

The lucky winner of the competition was Leila Bowler, aged seven, who produced a picture of her fluffy white pet rabbit. For her prize she got to chose a gift from the store and selected an animal grooming kit.

Also at the opening, representing the Dogs For The Disabled charity was Monica Mottram and 'Erin', who had made a special trip from Eastbourne to join in the celebrations.

Pets At Home actively support both this and the Blue Cross animal welfare charity.
