Don’t forget the Christmas Coffee Morning and Fayre, at Pett Village Hall, on Saturday December 8 from 10am-12pm. There will be seasonal refreshments and a raffle. The village choir will be singing Christmas songs. A local nursery will be selling plants and gifts and there will be stalls with a variety of goods, including homemade cakes and sweets. All proceeds will go to the maintenance of the Church building and churchyard.

Church Services on Sunday December 9 – TOY SERVICE – at St Mary & St Peter, Pett at 9:30am. The service is shared with the Methodist congregation and all gifts will be donated to the Family Support Work Organisation in Hastings.

On Monday December 10 the Village Choir will meet again at 7:30pm in Pett Methodist Chapel.

POPP on Tuesday December 11 will feature Keith Osborne and Music for Health. The session runs from 10:30am to 2:30pm and will include a two-course lunch for just £5.

The Mobile Library will be in Pett and Pett Level on Wednesday December 12. It will start at the Church at 10.10am, moving on to Chick Hill at 10:50am and finishing at The Smuggler at 11.20am.

Once again this year there will be Carols in the Barn at Pickham Farm, Watermill Lane. It will take place on Saturday December 15 at 6:30pm. Feel free to bring family and friends, particularly the young ones. Enjoy the festive spirit, singing along to all your favourite carols in the cattle shed plus mulled wine and mince pies in the interval. There will be a collection at the end and all proceeds go to Farm Africa.

Providing the road is not too icy there will be the usual Carol Singing in Pett on Monday December 17. All willing singers will meet up in St Mary and St Peter’s church, Pett Road at 6:45pm. Carol sheets will be provided and the group, wearing warm clothes, suitable boots and carrying torches, will leave the church at 7pm sharp to sing their way along Pett Road, Rectory Park, The Glebe and Oakfield. Please give generously as you always do and you can be sure that every penny will go straight to the local Surviving Christmas group, to help some of those less fortunate than ourselves.

To complete the evening the singers will finish up at The Roundels, where a warm welcome and some refreshments will await them. If there are any youngsters who would like to join in and their parents cannot collect them at the end (soon after 9pm at The Roundels), they will be seen safely home. So do come and join the group if you can.
