New Twineham cricket pavilion

Cricketers at Twineham Recreation Ground will soon be enjoying a new and improved pavilion.

The old breeze block building at the ground in Church Lane, was rendered useless after Storm Dennis tore its corrugated roof off earlier this year.

Members of Mid Sussex District Council’s planning committee voted unanimously to allow the old building, which stands on council land, to be demolished and replaced with something more up-to-date.

Annie Hurst, chairman of Twineham Parish Council said: “The new cricket pavilion will be a great asset to the local community and the parish council is very grateful to all the members of the cricket club and everyone else who is enabling the construction of this new building.”
