Prolific offender jailed for five years

Connor Crofton, 23, of Bluebell Drive, Littlehampton, has been jailed for five years following his conviction for several offences, including burglary and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

Crofton, unemployed, appeared for sentencing at Chichester Crown Court on Tuesday, 8 March, having previously pleaded guilty to the charges against him.

His Honour Judge Christopher Parker sentenced Crofton to 24 months’ imprisonment for burgling a house in Littlehampton, between 31 August and 3 September 2014, adding a further 24 months to run concurrently for going equipped.

Being in possession of a class A drug, heroin. with intent to supply in July and August last year brought a 36 month consecutive jail term, with a 36 month sentence imposed for a similar offence involving another class A drug, cocaine, to run concurrently.

Crofton was also given an 18 month sentence to run concurrently for money laundering (possessing criminal property - several hundreds of pounds cash) - a total of 60 months, or five years. in prison

After Crofton was jailed, Sergeant Chris White, of the Arun and Chichester crime and operations team, said: “This is a pleasing result following painstaking and dedicated police work to bring Crofton to justice.

“He has been a prolific offender in the Arun area and this sentence should act as a warning to anyone tempted to follow his example that they will be caught and dealt with robustly.”
