Racers of all abilities enjoy Cuckfield walking event

Cuckfield hosted an Easter Monday race for 27 walkers who gathered at the Recreation Ground and set off around the village.

The race took one hour. Some raced, and others choose to walk gently and enjoy the company of their friends and dogs.

Gary Atkinson won the Men’s Challenge Cup and the Swain Cup for the fastest male walker.

Leanne Knapman won the Ladies Challenge Cup to celebrate being first over the line triumph and the Bowring Cup for the fastest female went to Sarah Fry.

The Wheatsheaf and The White Hart received team trophies.

Previous handicap times were taken into consideration. Children enjoyed an Easter egg hunt, rode scooters and played football.
