Right touch and schools get the online knowledge

All 17 schools across Felpham and Bognor Regis have combined to launch an information directory.

The online site provides a mass of knowledge for parents and carers at the touch of a button.

The facts have been compiled during the past six months. They include a range of family services and opportunities for children, which are available throughout the town.

The directory can be viewed on computer touchscreens in each of the schools as well as online at www.fab-schools.co.uk

Felpham and Bognor Schools' co-ordinator Tony Storey said: "Headteachers hope that this information service will prove very helpful to parents and carers, and especially beneficial to their pupils.

"The information is arranged within easy-to-use screens which provide parents with contact information on child care providers, health services, parent support services, community groups and clubs catering for children and young people.

"There is also a diary of forthcoming events which include many fun activities taking place during the school summer break."

The headteachers have hired former colleague Pam Brett to keep the service up to date. She can be contacted on 07846 767904 by local service providers who want to be involved with the website.

The user-friendly information screens have been professionally designed by IT expert Tony Parke, of Felpham Community College.

He will continue to work with Pam and each school to maintain the information on the touchscreens and the website.

The schools involved in the first project of its kind around the town together cater for three to 19-year-olds. They include all 15 primaries, two secondary schools and the nursery and children's centre.
