Susan Saunders and Lion Maurice Allen stopped off at Harbour Park on day nine of their 12-day day trip from St Austell to Dover.

They were greeted by a contingent from the Littlehampton and District Lions Club who congratulated them on their journey and presented the duo with a cheque for £100.

Susan, president of Adur East Lions Club, and Maurice aimed to raise as much as possible for the Lions International Blood Research Appeal (LIBRA) – a charity which helps to tackle blood cancers.

They cycled more than 420 miles in 12 days, completing their epic journey across the country on Saturday, May 3.

The challenge raised a total of £3,000 for LIBRA.

Susan said: “We as Lions should all help to raise awareness about blood cancers, research and development of new treatments.”
