Shoreham students think pink

PERFORMING arts students are hoping to be in the pink with a charity fashion and dance show they are holding.

The lower sixth form pupils at Shoreham's King's Manor Community College have organised Project Pink to raise money for breast cancer research as part of their A-level performing arts.

They have to plan an event as part of their course and have recruited year 10 pupils to model the clothes, some of which they have made, and have choreographed dance and music routines.

There will also be a raffle and pink-themed food in the interval at the event, which is being held in the main hall at King's Manor on Wednesday at 7pm. Admission is 3 for adults and 2 concessions, which includes a raffle ticket.

Head of dance Maria Foster said: "The students wanted a feminine theme and thought that a breast cancer charity whose colour is pink tied in with it as well as raising awareness of the disease."

The 14 students aged 16 and 17 who have planned and are taking part in Project Pink are Kayleigh Baker, Jessica Cook, Jenny Hall, Steph Hazel, Ellie Infield, Emma Leeson, Heather Mann, Amy Mechan, Abbie Page, Georgia Powell, Jasmine Rose, Jodie Rutherford, Amy Wade Rose and Sarah Whittle.
