Southlands Court fair

A 'SUMMER extravaganza' at Southlands Court was opened by local personality 'whispering' Ted Lowe on Saturday.

Featuring music, dance and games the event, organised by the Friends of Southlands, raised funds for local charities and trips for residents.

Attractions included a raffle with 100 first prize, stalls and party games.

Uncle Bumble the clown acted as MC and assistance was provided to organisers by the local police cadets who had sacrificed their day off.

Oragniser Penny Toft said: "It is something we do every year and this year we decided to do it for the local charities."

Penny was particularly grateful to Pentacle Drummers who provided music on the day.

"They came at five minutes notice. They came to me at the last minute and they have been brilliant."
