Spiritual healing at Sidley church

Director Bonnie Lyne along with her expert team of healers are all members of Sidley church and recently became affiliated with the National Association of Healing Rooms.

Bonnie, who trainined in London, said both she and her team have witnessed physical and emotional healings and explained the history behind the Healing Rooms phenomenon that began in America:

"Eighty five years ago American, John G Lake, was used by God in an amazing way, seeing many healings, signs & wonders whilst planting churches in Africa.

"When he returned to the USA he called together a group of ordinary regular Christians, trained them in the principles ofhealing & evangelism, and in a town called Spokane, Washington, the Healing Rooms were born.

"Over a 5 year period 100,000 'documented' healings took place. The U.S. government declared Spokane to be the healthiest city in the world! To date there are over 1,100 healing rooms in 50 nations, 98 of these are in the UK. All linked together through the International Association of Healing Rooms.

"Our vision is to re-establish healing as a vital ministry of the Body of Christ throughout the world, the whole person needs to be impacted by God according to 1 Thessalonians 5:23, ' Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely, & may your whole spirit, soul & body be preserved blameless at the coming of the Lord.'

"Dave Bishop, Pastor of Sidley Baptist Church, has for many years had healing very much on his heart. In April of this year he and the other elders of our church felt God was saying that now is the time.

My husband & I were approached byDave to be the Directors of Sidley Healing Rooms."

Bonnie travelled to London Healing Rooms do the necessary training, she said:

"It was a privilege to see first hand how God was using these rooms to heal people both physically, & emotionally."

Bonnie and husband Trevor subsequently trained a team of 18 church members and claims that during the weeks of meeting together some members were used as guinea pigs and went along for prayer. Many testified to a great improvement and some cases resulted in total instantaneous healing.

Bonnie said: " God sometimes heals instantaneously (miraculously) & sometimes over a period of days/ weeks. John G Lake once prayed for a woman with terminal cancer for 25 weeks, on the 26th week she was completely healed & went on to live until old age!"

The Healing Rooms operates a no appointment system on Thursday evenings 7.30 '“ 9pm. It's a free service and confidentiality is guaranteed.

Open to anyone, it's non denominational and Christians, or those who have never seen the inside of a church, are welcome.

On arrival visitors are welcomed in the coffee bar area where a reception team will provide drinks.

Praying takes place in a private room with a team of3 team members in attendance. In another room a team of intercessors, who having been given only the first name of the person being prayed for, wait on God for any words or scriptures for that person.

Bonnie said: "There is no 'hype' or religious styles used in the rooms, we are just obeying what Jesus has told us to do in His word. Lay hands on the sick, the rest is up to Him. It's not about us, it's all about Him."
