Spree of shoplifting hits Bexhill stores

SHOPLIFTERS have been active in Bexhill recently.

Two separate incidents were reported in Seabourne Road on Friday, October 1 when at one shop, an offender was seen to steal a can of L'Oreal Elnet hairspray and at a second shop, meat and sausages were stolen.

The previous day, at the Ravenside Retail Park, three male shoplifters were reported by a member of staff from a local supermarket. Two of the suspects distracted staff while a third took high-value items from a shelf and placed them in a carrier bag.

Also in Seabourne Road the same day, a man and woman stole a box of washing powder and a packet off sausage rolls. The female was described as white, skinny, about 5ft 6ins tall, with long brown hair tied back and wearing a black Puffa jacket with a furry hood, a grey jumper and grey tracksuit bottoms.

The man, also white, was about 5ft 8ins tall, of medium build, with short brown hair, and was wearing a dark blue jacket and black tracksuit bottoms.

In all cases closed circuit television footage (CCTV) was ontained and police are continuing with enquiries to trace the offenders. Also being sought is a thief who stole a boxed set of Peter Rabbit books worth 100 from a shop in Devonshire Road on Tuesday, September 28.

He is described as white with a shaven head and a barbed wire tattoo on his neck. He was wearing a brown-and-orange striped jumper tucked into brown corduroy trousers, and aged about 40.
