Sunshine brought out one of the biggest crowds for years as dozens of children gathered in Market Street to catch hot pennies thrown by the new Mayor from an upper window of the Town Hall.

Cllr Fiddimore became Mayor after a short ceremony at the Town Hall, before parading, in full regalia to St Mary’s Church for a service of celebration.
