Surreal thing at Bexhill College show

Surrealist art students from Bexhill College will be walking in the footsteps of Dali and Picasso when they launch their exhibition at Farley Farmhouse.

Since January the BTEC National Diploma Art and Design first year students, along with some of the AS Fine Art gifted and talented students, have been working hard recycling old junk into art.

Their work is now on show on at weekends at Farley Farmhouse in Chiddingly until May 23.

Farley Farmhouse became famous in the mid 20th century as home to an extraordinary collection of contemporary art treasures and meeting place of many of the modern artists who created them. Now the College's students will be exhibiting their work alongside that of established artists.

Art teacher Julie Clark said: "It really is a fantastic exhibition, the students have worked hard and this really is something the college should be proud of. Anthony Penrose - who is the son of Lee Miller, a photographer, and Roland Penrose, a British Surrealist artist-is absolutely delighted with the work."
