Team Lizard heroes

They're dressed as superheroes and they know how to act the part.

This is Team Lizard which recently raised 3,000 so that a 9 year old Bexhill boy can have a specialised wheelchair to improve his day-to-day life..

Bailey Horton is a pupil at Glyne Gap school who suffers from a condition similar to cerebral palsy and spends 12 hours of his day in a wheelchair and the remainder of his time in bed.

Team Lizard took part in a number of fundraising activities such as biking 100 miles across the South Downs Way, holding bootsales, BBQ and a raffle, and running a car wash at West St Leonards community centre dressed as superheroes.

They achieved their target sooner than expected and ordered the chair which will be presented to Bailey, of Martyns Way, next week and will give him freedom to enjoy relaxing with security.

Bailey's mum Tracey commented: "It's going to be brilliant for him. Team Lizard are angels. We would still be doing lots of fundraising and have tons to do if it wasn't for them. We would never have reached the target so quick. It's amazing what they do considering they are not a registered charity, just a bunch of friends that do this. They decided as friends grown up together they wanted to do this and raise money for charity. They have done other stuff as well such as raising money for the hospice but this is the first time they knew they had to get to a 3,000 target '“ that's how much the chair was, and that was what they were going to do. They are absolutely lovely."
