Thieves raid a cottage in Walberton before stealing car

BURGLARS raided a home in Walberton before stealing a car, police announced today (Wednesday, February 27).

Police are appealing for witnesses following the crime in The Street, Walberton, on Saturday, February 23.

Sometime between 7pm and 8pm the cottage was broken into through an upstairs window.

Once inside the property cash was taken along with car keys for a Silver Citroën Xsara which was then driven off by the thieves.

Detective Constable Della Squires said: “I am keen to talk to anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area on February 23 or has seen the stolen car being driven around or parked up in their street.”

The vehicle, registration LC54 VNK, has since been sighted driving along the A27 at Arundel, little more than two miles away.

Anyone with information about the crime should call police on 101, quoting serial 1592 of 23/2 or alternatively ring independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
