Time for a sail before a glass or two of ale in Littlehampton

ARUN Yacht Club will open its doors next month for taster lessons to sail. . . followed by a glass or two of real ale.

The club, on the west bank of Littlehampton harbour, will welcome visitors to its open day from 10am-1.30pm on Saturday, June 8, with a free ferry service running from Pier Road, and in the afternoon and evening a real ale festival runs from 1-8pm.

The open day will provide an opportunity for free sailing taster sessions on dinghies and yachts, as well as finding out more about training courses approved by the Royal Yachting Association, the club’s own cadet and adult training programmes and its all-year-round programme of cruising, racing and social events.

Six locally produced ales and two ciders will be on tap during the festival and light meals, and refreshments will be on sale all day.
