Major bus services in Eastbourne affected by 24-hour road closure and five-week roadworks

Major bus routes along one of the main roads into Eastbourne will be affected by roadworks and a 24-hour road closure over the next five weeks.

SGN are carrying out the gas mains connection works in the Station Approach and Upperton Road area from May 11 to June 22.

A stretch of Upperton Road just before Station Roundabout will be closed for 24 hours each day until the end of the works.

The bus services which have been affected include the 51,54,54A,5,6,98 and loops, according to Stagecoach, and a diversion route has been put in place.

According to Stagecoach, the bus diversion routes is along Gildredge Road, Ashford Road, Cavendish Place, Cavendish Bridge, Upper Avenue, The Avenue and then a return to the normal line of route, all inbound services will remain unaffected.
