Man who died at Crawley level crossing named

A man who died after being hit by a train at a level crossing in Crawley has been named.

Police said a 45-year-old man from Crawley died following an incident near Crawley station on Friday (July 22).

A spokesman for Horsham Coroner’s Office identified the man as Wayne Hopkins.

Emergency services were called to the crossing at 10.15pm.

Police said Mr Hopkins was pronounced dead at the scene. His death is not being treated as suspicious. An inquest will be held.
