Pedestrian hospitalised after crash in Littlehampton

EMERGENCY services have provided first aid to a pedestrian involved in a collision outside Littlehampton fire station, this morning (Monday, February 18).

The man was hit as he walked along Maltravers Road, at around 8.52 this morning.

Firefighters on duty in the station rushed outside and began providing first aid, and giving the injured woman oxygen.

Paramedics arrived shortly before 9am. It is believed that the casualty was taken to Worthing Hospital by ambulance crews.

The severity of his injuries has not yet been confirmed, a spokeswoman from West Sussex Fire and Rescue said.

The circumstances of the incident also remain a mystery. Only one car was involved.

Officers from Sussex Police are in attendance and are conducting an investigation of the scene.
