They announced on X at 12.56pm on Tuesday, February 20, that Upper Church Road is currently closed at the junction of Battle Road ‘due to a gas escape’.
A spokesperson said: “SGN are aiming to reopen the road on 28 February.”
Reader Daniel Burton submitted a photo to this newspaper of the three-way traffic lights that have been installed at the Battle Road/Old-Church-Road junction as a result of the works. He said they are causing delays.
