A spokeswoman said: “The new premises provide a safe, friendly, helpful and welcoming place where people can seek advice and information or simply meet with friends to build their social network.”

The team based at the building provides an outreach service with one-to-one support in people’s homes.
A drop-in service provides further flexible support.

“A member of the team is available during office hours to provide information and answer queries,” said the spokeswoman. “The learning disability advice services that are provided at the service are also available to the public as well as the trust’s clients, including, family, carers and supporters.”

This includes advice about supporting independent living. The premises are also home to the Support Workers Direct service of the trust and its creative arts studio, especially for adults with learning disabilities.

It will be used as well for regular entertainment such as film nights, music nights and karaoke. The trust has moved from the High Street.
