POLICE arrested men from Findon Valley and Lancing after a man was threatened with a knife in Brighton on Saturday night.

A 35-year-old man was chased by two men who threatened him with a knife and demanded he hand over his property at around 10.55pm in London Road, Brighton.

Police are appealing for a man who intervened in the attempted robbery to come forward.

A passer-by saw the victim being threatened and told the two men to ‘leave him alone’. They then ran off empty-handed.

Detective Constable James Botting said: “We are appealing for this man who intervened to contact us and any other witnesses who saw the incident to come forward.”

A 23-year-old from Lancing and a 20-year-old from Findon Valley were both arrested nearby on suspicion of attempted robbery and possession of a controlled drug. They were questioned and the 23-year-old was released on bail until November 26 and the 20-year-old was released on bail until November 30.
