He said: "Me and my mate were driving through the industrial estate and it looked like a building was on fire, so we went round to have a look and saw it was a car on fire.

"The driver of the car was panicking. I went up to her to see if she was OK. We then waited for the fire engine to turn up."

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said one fire engine was sent to the incident in Victoria Road, Burgess Hill, on Saturday (September 29), just before 3pm.

She said the cause of the fire had not yet been determined and that no one was hurt in the fire.
