Voting begins for £30k carrier bag grant
Lancing Parish council has two of the three local entries in the Tesco Bags of Help initiative, which gives grants to community projects from money raised by the 5p carrier bag charges.
These are the renovation of Monks Recreation Ground in Crabtree Lane, Lancing and the installation of a disability-friendly access path on Lancing Beach Green.

All three are guaranteed either a £12,000, £10,000 or £8,000 grant from the £12.5million national fund.
Voting began in Tesco stores on Monday and will end on November 13. Shoppers are given a token which they can use to vote.
Gloria Eveleigh, chairman of Lancing Parish Council, said: “Young people need outside spaces like Monks Rec that spark their imaginations and disabled people need the same access as everyone else.”
