A Mytox Chainsaw, Neilson multi-function garden tool, Tenaka trimmer and pole trimmer, together worth £1000, were stolen from a garden shed at Forewood Lane, Crowhurst, sometime overnight on Wednesday (March 2).

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Garages and sheds often contain expensive items and equipment.

“To help deter thieves or aid the return of recovered property, security mark it with your post-code using a permanent pen.

“It is also worthwhile registering items on www.immobilise.com, a national property register used by police forces across the country.”

Strong locks, padlocks and hasps should be used to secure outside buildings, and where possible, equipment should be further secured to strongpoints within and alarms fitted.
