Sussex weather: Scattered showers expected this weekend with 'a risk of thunder'

Here is your weather forecast for Sussex on Friday, September 2.

The Met Office said it will be a bright morning, with ‘some sunny spells in the east’, turning ‘increasingly cloudy’ from the west with isolated showers.

It will be cloudy with ‘some hazy sunshine’ through the afternoon and further showers are possible, the weather experts said.

It will feel very warm inland but a ‘little breezier towards the coast’, with temperatures peaking at 27 degrees Celsius.

It will be a ‘mainly dry evening’, with a ‘mix of clear spells and patchy cloud’.

The Met Office said isolated showers ‘may bubble up through the early hours’ of the morning. Temperatures will drop to 15 degrees Celsius.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday morning will be ‘mainly dry’ but ‘some scattered showers’ are forecast.

Bands of rain and ‘occasionally heavy showers’ will sweep eastwards during the afternoon – ‘some of these giving a risk of thunder’.

Temperatures will peak at 25 degrees Celsius.

The weather from Sunday through to to Tuesday will be ‘changeable’, with ‘bands of rain and showers’, the Met Office said.

A spokesperson added: “Showers will become heavy at times with a risk of thunder.

"Temperatures rather warm, but feeling breezy on the coast on Monday.”
