The members of F3 (Westfield Church women’s group) would like to thank everyone who supported their jumble sale on Saturday. This raised a very pleasing £335 for the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance.

The Friends of Westfield Church would like to thank everyone who supported their Coffee Morning on May 4, which raised over £400.

The ladies of Westfield are asked to support the 1066 Cycle Club in their initiative in collecting unwanted bras. These are sent to Africa for women to buy from market stalls, which gives them greater status and makes them less vulnerable to abuse. The income generated is given to breast cancer research and also 1066 Cycle Club projects like the bike stands recently installed at the recreation ground. Joan at ‘Bilbrough’, Cottage Lane is collecting the Westfield donations; bras can be in any condition as everything is recycled if they are not sold, but washed and clean, please. Just leave in a bag on her doorstep.

A new dance class, Dance Latino (Line Dance Latin Style), meets weekly at 8pm in Westfield Community Hall at £5 per session. Feel those Latin rhythms and learn the moves. All ages welcome - join the fun! More information from Marie 07710 251465.

The Benefice of Westfield and Guestling St John the Baptist Church Westfield are holding a Flower Festival on the bank holiday week end 25th – 27th May 10:00 – 5:00pm. Included in the event are Country Bazaar with a variety of stalls to include Crafts, Cakes

Raffle, Tombola, Gifts, Plants etc, Songs of Praise 5.00p.m on Sunday, Activities for young people on Monday. Throughout the weekend there will be a display of the History of Westfield plus an opportunity to explore how to research your Family History. Teas, coffees, cakes and light lunches will be available each day.

The next Friendship Club meeting is on Monday, June 10th from 2-3.30pm in the Parish Hall. The yearly subscription is £5 with 10p per meeting, and new members will be made very welcome. The Friendship Club do not meet at Whitsun and August bank holidays. Therefore their future dates for your calendar are, June 24th; July 8th and 22nd; September 16th and 30th; October 14th and 29th; November 11th and 25th; December 9th.

Westfield Golf Fellowship’s results from the Spring Spoon at Dale Hill on May 9th were a win for village based Lee Case with an outrageous 44 points with Terry Drinkwater the runner up. This year’s Westfield Village Fete is on Saturday, July 6, and volunteers are needed to help set up, run stalls and clear up afterwards. The Westfield HUB meets at ‘The Plough’ on Fridays from 10am to 12noon. A warm and friendly welcome and a decent cup of tea/coffee are assured at the Hub every Friday morning between 10am and midday.’
