Whatlington

Church News: On July 25th and 26th we shall be celebrating the Patronal Day of St Mary Magdalene, to whom our church is dedicated, which falls on July 22nd. This beautiful and historic church will be open from 2.30 to 4.30 pm on Saturday 25th when delicious cream teas will be served. There will also be a cake stall and a raffle. Do come along and bring your friends! On Sunday 26th there will be no morning service; instead, an Evensong service will be held at 5.00 pm, followed by light refreshments. As always, the car park adjacent to the Village Hall will be open: there is no parking at the church.

Highways England: Presentation at the Hall: I understand there are to be road works taking place on the A21 sometime soon, and Highways England have booked the Village Hall for Wednesday, July 29th from 2.00 to 7.00 pm in order to stage a small exhibition about the proposed work and how it will affect Whatlington. I believe there will also be a leaflet delivered to all relevant houses in the area which ought to tell us more, so watch out for these.
