Whatlington

Andrew Ratcliffe, Whatlington

The PCC of Whatlington would like to take this opportunity of thanking the Parish Council for their most generous grant, towards the sound amplification system incorporating a hearing loop, which is being installed in the church whilst the restoration is in progress, so that people with hearing aids can “tune” into it . This will enable those parishioners to listen and follow the service much better and a sound system, of course, will be of benefit to all of us. The estimated cost of this system is £4000.00

If I swop my hats now, I would like once again to thank the Parish council for giving a grant to The Good Companions, to pay towards “Speakers” and the hire of the village hall. Many of you will remember that The Good Companions first started of as Whatlington WI many years ago; it then became Whatlington Friends and a few years ago the name was changed to The Good Companions to reflect on how we saw the group. The Good Companions is a group of retired people who meet up socially once a month for outings, talks, lunches etc for as the name indicated, companionship. There is no membership fee, no committee; you can choose which events you would like to attend although most members join in everything that is arranged.
