Winifred's not too old really

When Winifred Hunt applied for a new 'pay-as-you-go' payment card she was surprised to find out that she was too old to apply. The online application form, that requested her year of birth, only went as low as 1907.

This was indeed a problem because Mrs Hunt is 101 years old and born in 1906.

With the help of her granddaughter Anna Hardy, she contacted Payment Card Solutions the owners of the BREAD maestro card, and explained the situation.

Anna said:'Gran really wanted one of these cards because she feels it's safer than carrying cash' she went onto say 'When we spoke to Tim Day from BREAD Card he couldn't have been more helpful, within 24 hours he called me back and confirmed that the lowest year of birth had been changed to 1897. My Gran received her card a few days later, and to our surprise it was personally delivered by Tim Day, himself '.

Tim said: "It was a pleasure to sort out this query. Having checked our records Mrs Hunt is our oldest customer and we are truly flattered that she wanted a BREAD Card at such a grand old age.'
