Woman injured in riding accident

A WOMAN was airlifted to hospital after she was thrown from her horse in Catsfield.

The 46-year-old was riding in a field off Skinners Lane when the accident happened just before 11am on Monday (July 29).

South East Coast Ambulance Service were called to the scene and the air ambulance was scrambled.

The rider had been knocked unconscious in the incident and was checked for head injuries.

She also suffered injuries to her abdomen and thorax.

She was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
