'Workaholic' author's 50th book

LEWES author Julian Fane is celebrating writing 50 books in 50 years of prolific authorship.

And antiquarian bookseller A and Y Cumming on Lewes High Street has chosen to dedicate space in its windows during August to display all of Mr Fane's books, including some of the rarer editions of his books, for sale.

Mr Fane's forthcoming novel Odd Woman Out will be making its first, early appearance.

In 1956, his first novel Morning was published to much critical acclaim and became an instant bestseller.

Fifty years later, Mr Fane continues to write, with new novels due to be published by the Book Guild.

Said Mr Fane, 79: 'I suppose you could describe me as a workaholic. I have two more on the way.

'I've written on just about every subject you could think about, including a biography about my mother.'
