Worthing midwives support international colleagues

MIDWIVES from Worthing Hospital will be celebrating the International Day of the Midwife on May 5 by raising funds to help provide midwifery care for women and newborns in developing countries.

The Worthing midwives will join forces with Royal College of Midwives (RCM) members across the country in selling special commemorative torches, the size of credit cards, during the national Midwifery Week event, which runs until May 5.

The RCM aims to raise 20,000 to fund safe motherhood initiatives in countries as diverse as Afghanistan and Macedonia.
