Youth centre in Bognor Regis wins makeover contest

Strong support has ensured a Bognor Regis building's success in a national contest to receive a professional makeover.

More than 2,000 votes were cast for the youth and community centre to place it at the top of the competition.

It received 900-plus more votes than its strongest rival in Yorkshire.

The triumph will see a team from Dulux and The Sun spend August 25 at the centre on Westloats Lane providing a new look for its main hall.

Centre-based Carole Fullick, of the Bognor Community Action Network, said: "Winning the competition is brilliant news. I would say it's the biggest thing to happen to the centre since it was opened in 1938 by the Duke of Gloucester. Each person could only vote once. So I'm delighted the centre has received so much support from everyone."
