Bad loss stalls Bexhill's bid for top

BEXHILL managed to pick up just a single point as they fell to a disappointing defeat at Littlehampton.

Batting first Sam Roberts' side were dismissed for just 91 with Daniel Rive taking 3-19 and Chris Hanks 3-28.

In reply Littlehampton had no trouble reaching the target with Steve Kirkham (22 not out) and Richard Vokes (31) pushing the total to 93-2.

The result sees Bexhill slip to third in the Sussex second division.

Neighbours Sidley are still firmly at the bottom of the league, after they were also bowled out for a low total.

They reached just 128 before East Grinstead finished them off with Alex Edwards (3-11) and Simon Hayes (3-36) responsible for the collapse.

Paul Turk made 42 in a winning score of 129-6, but skipper Peter King managed to pick up some extra bonus points with decent figures of 4-43.
